Q. What does SOLT mean?

A.
SOLT means "Society of Our Lady of the Most Holy Trinity". It is a religious community within the Catholic Church.

Q. Who founded SOLT?
A. SOLT was founded by Fr. James Flanagan on July 16, 1958. On September 25, 1994, it was officially recognized by Bishop Rene Gracida of Corpus Christi, Texas. SOLT consists of priests, religious brothers and sisters, deacons, and both married and single lay persons called apostles.

Q. What is SOLT's vision?
A. SOLT's vision is: All people in union with the Trinity and our Lady in their relationships through discipleship of Mary and Jesus.

Q. What is SOLT's charism?
A. SOLT's charism is: Discipleship of Mary and Jesus in ecclesial teams of priests, brothers, sisters and laity in Marian-Trinitarian relationships in areas of deepest apostolic need.

Q. What is SOLT's mission?
A. SOLT's mission is: Members of the Society of Our Lady of the Most Holy Trinity, are sent to live the Marian-Trinitarian spirituality in discipleship of Mary and Jesus on ecclesial teams living the evangelical counsels according to their state of life, united in Eucharist, prayer, apostolic teachings and in solidarity of apostolic spirit; serving in areas of deepest need for the full development of peoples leading all to discipleship of Mary and Jesus.

Q. What are the classifications of SOLT memberships?
A. The membership classifications are:
    "Committed" members. These members have completed their initial formation, and have decided to commit their lives, within their respective vocations, to the Society of Our Lady. "Definitive" members. These have been committed members for a period of time. With the approval of their respective superiors, they perpetually profess public vows or promises. Lay members contract with SOLT to commit themselves to the Society of Our Lady. "Corporate" members. They serve the Society on special projects. They assist or continue the work of SOLT members. "Auxiliary" members support SOLT members spiritually by their services, prayers and offerings. "Missionaries of Mercy" offer their sufferings, prayers and friendship for the missions of the Society of Our Lady.
